MIRI, March 16: SUPP Senadin presented some 20 boxes of dry food to healthcare professionals in Miri Hospital as gratitude for risking their lives in the line of duty amid the Covid-19 outbreak.

Its chairman Datuk Lee Kim Shin, who is also Transport Minister, handed over the donations to hospital director Dr Jack Wong at the Resident’s Office.

“We want to express our concerns for the medical team, as well as giving them some sort of encouragement,” he told reporters after the presentation here today.

Dr Wong expressed gratitude with SUPP’s gesture.

“The medical staff, when they treat the patient, are also quarantine for 14 days and could not go home and see their families. This sometimes increases pressure (and stress). This donation at least helps durable their spirit during that 14 days quarantine period,” he said.

As of today, Sarawak has recorded 34 positive Covid-19 cases, in which, 29 were regarded as “import” cases. — DayakDaily
