MIRI, Dec 12: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate for Piasau, Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew, reminded voters in his constituency not to be hoodwinked into thinking that they can only cast their votes between 9am and 9.30am.

Recently, rumours were rife that voters only can come to cast their votes from 9am to 9.30am.

“The polling centre normally opens at 7.30am and closes at 5pm. Voting is a whole-day affair,” he said,

Ting, who is Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) secretary-general, said this when met today at the SUPP Piasau conference room.

“There’s no such thing (on the timing restriction from 9am to 9.30am). The polling centre closes at 5pm and voters can come during these hours,” Ting explained.

He added that he called Sarawak Election Commission director Jasni Jubli on the matter. ― DayakDaily
