KUCHING, Feb 8: Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Opar Branch Working Committee (BWC) will distribute fresh food supply to some 200 families in Kampung Sebako 1 and Sebako 2 who are currently affected by the Enforced Movement Control Order (EMCO) due to the spike of Covid-19 cases in the two villages.
SUPP Opar BWC chairman Cr Niponi Undek said, his team will distribute the 200 fresh food items to the 200 families before the coming Chinese New Year.
“We are providing fresh supplies of food to 200 families in Kampung Sebako 1 and Sebako 2 which are affected by the EMCO due to the rise in Covid-19 cases in Lundu District.
“We are providing fresh food items such as fresh vegetables, fresh fruits and fresh fish and meat and basic food items such as rice and other items that have been supplied by the Welfare Department earlier on,” Niponi told DayakDaily today.
He said Opar BWC made the decision to assist those affected by Covid-19 during a meeting yesterday.
Niponi added that his team will also be supplying fresh food items to students who are sitting for their Form Five examinations in SMK Sematan.
Meanwhile, Niponi said, his team recently distributed 200 food baskets to flood victims in four villages under Opar constituency, namely Kampung Opar, Kampung Jugan, Kampung Bitokan and Kampung Stenggang.
Flood in these four village has since receded. — DayakDaily
