KUCHING, May 11: SUPP Kuching today has lent a hand in contributing food aid to ease the burden of the needy ahead of Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.
The aid which comes in the form of rice, drinks, Mukah keropok and face masks were presented to the Volunteers for Community Engagement and Empowerment for Covid-19 (VCEE19), a movement initiated by the Malaysian Public Health Physicians Association.
Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Kuching in a statement said the contributions would be channeled to various recipients, comprising the poor, single mothers and orphans under the Sinar Syawal programme.
“Each food basket for the underprivileged families would consist of a 5kg bag of rice, Mukah keropok, two bottles of soft drinks, Osborne biscuits and 20 pieces of face masks,” the statement read.
A symbolic handover of the food aid was done by SUPP Kuching branch deputy chairman Bong Lian Huan. Also present was SUPP Youth Section assistant publicity secretary Eric Tay Tze Kok. — DayakDaily
