KUCHING, May 7: The Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Kuching Branch will celebrate its 67th anniversary with the “67th Sa’ati Night” on June 28, marking more than six decades of service, grassroots engagement, and organisational growth since its establishment in 1959.
In a statement today, the Branch said the event will be held at the Grand Riverine Ballroom in Petanak from 6.30pm and is expected to gather party members, long-time supporters, and invited guests from various sectors.
The celebration symbolises 67 years of steadfast service alongside the people and reflects the Branch’s continued commitment to unity, public trust, and practical service.
According to the statement, SUPP Kuching Branch has evolved from humble grassroots beginnings into a well-structured and resilient organisation, built on dedication, continuity, and renewal despite decades of political and social changes.
The Branch added that it is now focused on nurturing a new generation of members who are stepping forward with confidence and growing leadership capabilities to carry the organisation into the future.
“In an evolving political and social landscape, the Branch remains focused on steady organisational development, strengthening internal cohesion, and building shared consensus to prepare for the challenges ahead,” it said.
The Branch also stressed its commitment to strengthening grassroots engagement in line with the progress of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), while enhancing organisational integration, service delivery, and communication capabilities.
It added that the party would continue to prioritise Sarawak’s needs in economic development, livelihoods, and sustainable progress, especially at a time when stability and confidence are increasingly valued.
At the constituency level, the Branch said efforts in Padungan would continue to focus on systematic community engagement, consolidation of existing support, and measured expansion grounded in service to the people.
The statement further emphasised that meaningful politics should be defined by tangible results that improve everyday lives.
“The 67th anniversary is both a moment of reflection and a starting point for the next chapter. United in purpose and disciplined in direction, SUPP Kuching Branch moves forward with resolve — steady, grounded, and prepared for the journey ahead,” it said.
