SUNGAI ASAP, April 8: The community of Sungai Asap came together in a spirit of unity and faith to erect a large Easter Cross at Holy Cross Parish as part of the 2025 Easter preparations, during a gotong-royong programme held on Saturday (April 5).
According to a Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) news report, Murum assemblyman Kennedy Chukpai Ugon joined the effort on the ground, alongside Reverend Monsignor Fr. Joseph Ding from RC St Luke Uma Belo Church, catechists, and parishioners from the Holy Cross Parish Sungai Asap Zone.
In his brief address, Chukpai expressed heartfelt gratitude to God, noting that the smooth progress of the installation was made possible by divine guidance and strength.
He also congratulated and thanked all who took part, acknowledging their hard work and commitment in making the programme a success.
Chukpai shared his hope that Easter 2025 would be a celebration filled with blessings, faith, and renewed spirit for the entire community. — DayakDaily
