KUCHING, July 11: Sarawak target at least 70 gold medals in 21st Malaysia Games (Sukma) 2024, says Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.
According to a news report from TV Sarawak, Abdul Karim was quoted by national news agency Bernama as saying that he is optimistic that Sarawak can achieve its target to become overall champion.
“This is based on the feedback received following meeting with Sarawak’s assistant chefs de mission (ACDM) and coaches recently,” he said.
Sarawak was Sukma champion in the 1990, 1992 and 1994 editions.
The upcoming Sukma will be held from Aug 17 until 24, in 9 divisions across Sarawak, namely Kuching, Samarahan, Serian, Sri Aman, Betong, Sibu, Mukah, Bintulu and Miri. — DayakDaily
