BETONG, Aug 19: Katierina Bojing has helped to secure one bronze medal for Sarawak on the first day of the weightlifting event at the 21st Malaysian Games (Sukma) held at the Dewan Sukan Tan Sri Datuk Amar Stephen Kalong Ningkan today.
Katierina won the bronze in the Women’s 45kg category with a lift of 108kg.
The gold medal was won by Perak’s Qistina Qharisa Suffia Mohd Muzani, who lifted 144kg, and the silver medal went to Sabah’s Irene Jane Henry, with a lift of 137kg.
Meanwhile, in the Men’s 55kg of the same event, Perak’s Muhammad Azri Irfan Azhar lifted 230kg to bag the gold medal, followed by Pahang’s Mohamad Rahimi Sulaiman (229kg) and Ahmad Darwisy Zharfan Ahmad Tharmidzi of the Federal Territories (211kg) who won silver and bronze respectively. — DayakDaily
