KUCHING, Sept 4: Rain and strong winds late last night (Sept 3) caused several trees to be uprooted and blocked the road to Kampung Tijirak near Siburan.
Responding to the emergency at 11.45pm, the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak reported that a fallen tree also caused minor damage to the gutter at the roof’s edge of the complainant’s house.
According to the operation commander, the fallen trees blocked a 400-metre stretch of road leading to the complainant’s house.
Firefighters from the Siburan and Serian stations worked to cut the trees along the road as well as the one that had hit the house.
The Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) later informed that villagers had cleared the remaining debris from the road early this morning.
Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported, with the operation concluding at 2.30am. — DayakDaily
