KUCHING, Sept 29: Strong policies and trust are the catalysts for cooperation between Sarawak and the federal government, says Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) today, Abang Johari said the cooperation between the two governments is expressed by granting requests especially in matters stipulated in Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) as well as various other infrastructure developments.

ā€œFor the development that we see in Sarawak today, it is the result of assistance from the other party which is the federal government under leadership of Prime Minister Dato Seri Anway Ibrahim,ā€ he said during ‘Majlis Ramah Mesra Bersama Pemimpin’ held at Rh Robert in Kapit, today.

Among those present were Anwar, Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki and other distinguished guests.

Abang Johari said that Anwar’s presence in Kapit this time came with a ‘gift’ to help the Sarawak government improve infrastructure facilities in this area.

Earlier on during a ceremony held at Kapit Civic Centre, Anwar approved funds totalling over RM500 million to complete the road network along the coast of Sungai Rajang. ā€” DayakDaily
