Strengthening federal-state ties tops agenda as Premier attends 146th Meeting of Chief Ministers, Menteri Besar

KUCHING, July 14: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg today attended the 146th Meeting of Chief Ministers and Menteri Besar in Putrajaya, where strengthening federal-state collaboration took centre stage.

The high-level meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim at Perdana Putra, ran for nearly three hours from 10am before concluding at around 12.40pm, as reported by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas).

Abang Johari was accompanied by State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki.

According to a post on the Prime Minister’s official Facebook page, the meeting served as a key platform to strengthen collaboration between the federal and state governments, particularly in coordinating policies and joint development initiatives.

“Through this synergy, we can ensure the implementation of the national development agenda runs smoothly, comprehensively, and inclusively for the well-being of the people and the overall progress of Malaysia,” Anwar stated in the post.

Following the meeting, the Premier held a closed-door discussion with the Prime Minister in his office.

Also in attendance was Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas. — DayakDaily
