KUCHING, Feb 1: Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for various areas in Sarawak this morning.
Anticipated weather conditions include thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds affecting Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, and Sri Aman (Sri Aman). The warning, issued at 9am today, remains in effect until 1pm.
“A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20 mm/hour that is approaching or expected to last for more than an hour. A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning that is valid for a maximum of six hours per release,” it highlighted. — DayakDaily
