KUCHING, Dec 14: A motorcycle and a grass-cutting machine were destroyed after a storage unit at the Samunsam Wildlife Sanctuary in Telok Melano, caught fire, yesterday.
According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre in a statement today, firefighters received the alert regarding the incident at 11.25pm, and a team of four firefighters led by PBK II Pathi from the Lundu fire station were deployed to the scene.
“Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed that the incident had occurred at the sanctuary’s storage unit, and the flames had been extinguished by sanctuary workers using a fire extinguisher,” the statement read.
The firefighters carried out an investigation to ascertained the cause of the incident. No injuries were reported. — DayakDaily
