KUCHING, May 5: MPP chairman Lo Khere Chiang has told Sarawak DAP Batu Kitang branch chairman Abdul Aziz Isa not to stir up negative issues by complaining again on the soil erosion prevention project at Lorong 4, Jalan Semeba to fish for votes.

Lo said the project which costs RM13,000 is being constructed by Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) concurrently with 37 other major erosion projects under the council’s jurisdiction which require RM700,000 to be built.

Lo who is also the Batu Kitang assemblyman said the council is tackling the most urgent infrastructure projects first.

“I must say Aziz is making a mountain out of a molehill. He needs to stay relevant thus he kept (sic) singing the same tune over and over.

“We in MPP have the mechanism of knowing issues and plights of the people. We have the staff and councillors who are on the ground constantly to listen to the people’s needs.

“Thus, if there are matters that need to be raised, the public are most welcome to contact the council or the councillors. Any infrastructure problems related to the council will be brought forward and we will deal with it accordingly,” Lo said in a press statement.

Lo added he believed the Sarawak Democratic Action Party (DAP) Batu Kitang chairman is just an opportunist trying to stir up negative issues to get the people to be upset with the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government.

He opined that Abdul Aziz was trying to get the people’s attention and votes for the 12th State Election (PRN12). — DayakDaily
