KUCHING, Aug 18: Sarawak Trade and Tourism Office Singapore (Statos) will be holding roadshows in Kuching, Sibu and Miri to meet with the business community and explore collaboration especially with new and small companies which have good products and intend to expand their business globally.
Statos will kick start the roadshow in Kuching at Grand Margherita Hotel on Aug 23, before moving to Sibu at Kingwood Hotel on Aug 25 and Miri at Meritz Hotel on Aug 26.
In a media release today, Statos said the roadshows are part of its efforts to continue to promote trade, investments and tourism for Sarawak.
“Team Statos wants to meet especially with new and small companies who have good products and are exploring exports to Singapore or even (phave) resources like land that are suitable for tourism, agriculture, manufacturing, or any other downstream activities.
“We want to meet and hear from you on areas where we can collaborate and perhaps attract potential investors,” it said in welcoming business owners to visit the roadshows.
During the roadshows, Statos teams are ready to share about its roles and services including a promotion assistance scheme that offers SGD10,000 in financial support for the promotion of new export products.
On a first-come-first-serve basis, all participants once registered with Statos on site will be given complimentary copies of the Exporter Guidebooks.
Representatives from Sarawak Forwarding Agencies Association (SFAA), Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) and Freight Forwarder Kuching will be among the exhibitors that will be present to share information and answer questions of business owners.
In addition, participants will also be treated to sharing sessions by existing exporters who have successfully exported their products to Singapore.
