KUCHING, Dec 10: The Sarawak Trade and Tourism Office Singapore (Statos) has played host to Singapore production company Poetry in Motion to support filming of a segment in their latest Malay TV Series ‘Dilema Dania’.
The intriguing drama follows the journey of a flight attendant, played by Singaporean actress Shenty Feliziana, who survives a plane crash in the Borneo jungle.
Suffering from memory loss, Dania is taken in by local tribespeople and the series follows her adventures during a five-year stint living among them.
Film producer Nusaibah Rahim said the entire series had to be filmed in Singapore due to Covid-19 travel restrictions.
“We managed the exterior scenes by re-creating a Borneo rainforest in the Sarimbun area of Singapore. The team at Statos were very accommodating and I am looking forward to future collaboration between Sarawak and Singapore in future productions.
“I hope one day we will be able to travel to Sarawak and capture its beautiful scenery and unique ethnic culture,” she said in a statement today.
‘Dilema Dania’ has been running on the local Suria Mediacorp Channel during November and December where it is garnering a strong following.
Statos deputy chief executive officer (CEO) Putrie Rozana Soraya added: “It’s an honour to be working alongside Poetry in Motion Pte Ltd. We certainly hope to welcome the crews and Singapore artistes to Sarawak in near future.
“There’s certainly more that Sarawak can offer and we’re happy with the value of publicity valued at an advertising spend of approximately RM375,000 in the local market.”
