KUCHING, Sept 14: The Sarawak Assembly (DUN) has published a book titled ‘Statistik Subnasional DUN’ for its lawmakers to assist them in planning effective development for their respective constituency.
Sarawak Assembly Speaker Tan Sri Mohamad Asia Awang Nassar said it is an important reference for all Sarawakian assemblymen as the information provided in the book may help them to formulate strategies to appropriately develop their areas.
“This information and statistics comes from the people and it goes back to the people when it is used by every assemblyman to improve and facilitate their work,” said Asfia during the handing over of the book to Sarawak lawmakers at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly Complex, as reported by Unit Komunikasi Awan Sarawak (Ukas).
He stressed that the statistical contents in the book are neutral in nature as they do not favor any political party in Sarawak and it is up to each assemblyman to make the best use of the information.
Meanwhile, Asfia also reminded the lawmakers that their role was especially important in assisting parliamentarians in view that the General Election in around the corner.
Asfia presented the book to every assemblyman who was present and to the representatives of the lawmakers who could not attend the ceremony.
