State Health Department conducts Covid-19 ACD at Kampung Tabuan Lot

KUCHING, May 9: The State Health Department is conducting Covid-19 active case detection (ACD) for potential cases at Kampung Tabuan Lot today.

The ACD will be carried out for all residences at Kampung Tabuan Lot from 8.30 am to 5 pm.

This follows the death of a 72-year-old man from Kampung Tabuan Lot due to Covid-19 on April 30. The man was the latest casualty and the 17th fatality due to Covid-19.


According to a statement from the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), the victim had earlier showed Covid-19 symptoms such as fever and cough on April 13 and was admitted to Kota Samarahan heart centre.

He was found to have a severe acute respiratory infection and his blood sample had been taken on April 16 for Covid-19 swab test.

Subsequently, his blood test results had tested positive Covid-19 on April 18.

Upon treatment at the Sarawak General Hospital, his health condition deteriorated and he passed away on April 30.

The victim had no past history of close contact with any Covid-19 case.

Meanwhile, medical officers from the State Health Department were seen moving from house to house to ask questions and obtain personal information from the residences.

At the same time, they also conducted the Covid-19 swab test for residences at Kampung Tabuan Lot multipurpose hall.—DayakDaily
