State govt gives additional RM1 mln for new SM Pei Min building

MIRI, Dec 3: Pei Min Middle School today received a grant worth RM1 million from the Sarawak government to help fund its new building which is currently under construction.

The cheque was presented by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg to the school’s building administration construction committee chairman Datuk Hii King Chiong at a hotel here today.

The school’s building which is being constructed for a total cost of RM15 million is expected to be completed in August 2020, but the schoool is still short of RM6 million.

The building is 70 per cent completed.

For the record, prior to the 14th General Election in May 2018, the Chief Minister had also chipped in RM1.5 million to help with the construction of the building.
