State BN to work closely with federal govt, says CM

KUCHING, June 2: The Sarawak Barisan Nasional (BN) government will work closely with the Pakatan Harapan-led federal government to ensure the country has good and stable governance, said Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg today.

The chief minister said although Sarawak was an opposition state, his administration would nevertheless collaborate with the federal government, especially on administrative matters.

ā€œDo not worry about that,ā€ he replied when reporters asked him what had transpired during his meeting with Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday.

ā€œWe will work closely with federal government leaders, especially on administrative matters. Since Malaysia needs good and stable governance, we, in Sarawak, will help them.ā€

Abang Johari was met at a ‘bubur lambuk’ distribution event in Kampung Bintangor here.

On the state BN, he said it would continue to implement development programmes for the people.

ā€œSarawak has an abundance of resources. We can continue with our own development for the future of Sarawakians.ā€ ā€” DayakDaily
