According to Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap’s social post yesterday (Sept 2), he had gone down to the ground to attend a project briefing.

Together with Yap were Deputy Premier Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian, Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng, MBKS council secretary Zainab Marzali as well as councillors Kho Teck Wan and Philip Liaw.

They also made a final inspection of the completed resurfacing works of the 2km Jalan Stampin Baru which cost RM1.22 million.

On drainage upgrades, Yap mentioned that they had visited BDC Lorong E3A, Pelita Heights and the backlane of Lorong Hui Sing 2 and 3 to discuss related job scopes.

Meanwhile, Dr Sim also recorded the site visits on his social media page, saying that there are tremendous challenges ahead in Kota Sentosa constituency after 15 years of being under an opposition elected representative.

“Let’s start with implementing (projects involving) agencies namely MBKS and MPP (Padawan Municipal Council), JKR (Public Works Department), DID (Department of Irrigation and Drainage).

“Sincere apologies for any inconvenience while works are being carried out,” added Dr Sim, who is also Minister of Public Health, Local Government and Housing. — Dayakdaily
