KOTA SAMARAHAN, March 8: A stall helper walked out a free man today after he was discharged and acquitted (DNA) of culpable homicide not amounting to murder charge.

Sessions Court Judge Afidah Abdul Raham ordered Joseph Liaw Soon Chong to be freed without calling for his defence as the prosecution has failed to prove a prima facie case against the accused.

Liaw was charged under Section 304(a) of the Penal Code for committing culpable homicide not amounting to murder on Dick Tsen Teck Chin in front of a house at Jalan Chin Ping, off Jalan Datuk Mohd Musa, on Sep 29, 2017, at about 9pm.

Section 304(a) of the Penal Code carries an imprisonment term of not more than 30 years and also liable to fine.
