KUCHING, Jan 27: Stakan assemblyman Datuk Hamzah Brahim has been sworn in today as political secretary in the Plantation Industries and Commodities Ministry (MPIC).
Effective immediately, he will be working together with Deputy Prime Minister Dato Seri Fadillah Yusof, who is also Minister in charge of MPIC.
When contacted today, Hamzah said although he has no prior experience in plantation and commodities, believes that he can learn and catch up well with MPIC because this is not the first time that he will be working with Fadillah.
He also hoped to do his best in juggling his time as a representative for Stakan and a political secretary in MPIC.
Earlier on, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in his Facebook post today, shared that a total of 10 political secretaries took their oath of secrecy in a ceremony held in Putrajaya this morning.
Anwar, who witnessed the ceremony, said it was led by Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim, who has been appointed as political secretary to the finance minister.
Also sworn in as political secretaries are Yuhaizad Abdullah (Agriculture and Food Security Ministry), Datuk Ton Zalani Mat Darus (Defence Ministry), Datuk Haji Rizam Ismail (International Trade and Industry Ministry), Dato Suraya Yaacob (Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department-Law and Institutional Reform), Akmal Zharif Ahmad Kamal (Foreign Ministry), Dr Stephen William (Unity Ministry), Arul Kumar Jambunathan (Transport Ministry) and Yap Yee Vonne (Youth and Sports Ministry). — DayakDaily
