Stable Malaysia and its citizens come first, says PBB vice president

Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom

KUCHING, July 8: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) will prioritise supporting a stable Malaysian government for the benefit of the people, said Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) vice president Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom.

Rundi said, whatever happens, GPS must make sure that Malaysia is stable and the Malaysian government continues to be the most stable government in South East Asia.

“In Sarawak, the most important is that GPS must remain united, and we must make sure that we support the government that can stabilise this country. That is our main aim,” he told reporters during his visit to the Covid-19 vaccination centre (PPV) in MyDin Petra Jaya, Vista Tunku, today

Rundi who is also Utilities Minister was asked to comment on the immediate appointment of Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob as the Deputy Prime Minister as he continues to oversee the Ministry of Defense portfolio, while Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein was appointed as the Senior Minister who will head the Security Cluster.

Ismail and Hishammuddin’s appointments were announced yesterday (July 7), in a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

Rundi, who is also the Kemena assemblyman, said GPS will continue to support Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s decision, if it benefits the people.

“What the Prime Minister is doing, if it is for the good of the people and this country, we will support,” he added. —DayakDaily.
