St Joseph’s Private Schools receive RM5 million Unifor grant for extension project

KUCHING, June 24: St Joseph’s Private Schools received a grant of RM5 million from the Sarawak government via the Unit for Other Religions (Unifor) for an extension project of its primary and secondary schools.

Deputy Premier of Sarawak and Minister for Public Health, Housing, and Local Government (MPHLG) Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian; Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts (MTCP) Sarawak Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah; Deputy Minister of MTCP Datuk Sebastian Ting; and Tupong assemblyman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman were present to present the cheque to the school.

The cheque was received by the chief executive officer (CEO) of St Joseph’s Private Schools, Christopher Chua.

According to the press statement, St Joseph’s Private Schools will be embarking on a new building extension project that is set to enhance its campus and provide its students with a number of new state-of-the-art facilities.

The facilities will include a multipurpose hall, a resource centre and library, modern learning spaces, labs, a music room, a dance room, and a more spacious canteen area to provide students with a comfortable space to eat and rest.

The new facilities are not just for the students and staff as they are designed to serve the broader community as well and the multipurpose halls, activity rooms, and open spaces will be available for community events, workshops, and other activities. — DayakDaily
