KUCHING, Dec 17: The spirit of Christmas has truly come alive at Sri Aman Hospital II this year, as staff pulled out all the stops to create a winning decoration display that has transformed the hospital into one of the most festive and colourful places in Sarawak.
From corridors lined with twinkling lights to festive baubles and gingerbread house, the hospital radiates joy, warmth and holiday cheer.
Unleashing their creativity, the hospital staff have turned ordinary wards into magical spaces that lift spirits and bring joy to patients, visitors, and staff alike.

A TikTok video shared by account holder freciouspearl captured the festive transformation, showing a department door framed with big ribbons and wrapped presents, as if inviting visitors into a giant Christmas gift.
In the video, a cheerful nurse leads viewers down a corridor decorated with foil balloons, candy canes, ribbons, and twinkling lights. The floor is designed like a train track, guiding visitors toward a charming gingerbread house flanked by a nutcracker soldier and miniature Christmas trees.
The entire ward exudes warmth, fun, and the true Christmas spirit.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian shared the video on his social media, praising the hospital’s efforts: “Christmas vibes at Hospital Sri Aman II — it has the best Christmas decoration among its peers this year! Everyone can play their roles and do their parts for Sarawak nation building.”
The decorations not only create a visually stunning environment but also provide comfort to patients, offering a festive distraction from the stresses of illness.

Social media responses have been overwhelmingly positive. TikTokers were left in awe, describing the display as “festive and creative”, “winning hospital decoration”, and “the best Christmas vibe general hospital in the whole of Malaysia.”

Some humorous comments showed just how captivated viewers were, with one TikToker joking, “So beautiful decoration, hope it will not invite more patients… just joking,” while another said, “Want to go hospital just to take photos.”
Many expressed admiration for Malaysia’s multicultural celebrations, noting how holidays such as Hari Raya, Chinese New Year, Deepavali, and Christmas are all embraced with vibrant decorations nationwide.
TikTokers commented on the magical and uplifting atmosphere. One wrote, “Magical Christmas… seems I’m in a fairy garden, healing.” Another said, “When the hospital does like this, it is like giving positive vibes for patients to heal more… Magical Christmas.”
