SRI AMAN, Feb 17: Once in a while, comes along a relatively different task for firefighters and today, they were challenged with rescuing a puppy whose head was stuck in a storm drain hole.
While not the firefighters’ usual call about battling house fires or rescuing victims from road accidents, a puppy rescue is a norm that doesn’t surprised them.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sri Aman station chief William Baheng said they responded to the call at 10am about a puppy which had its head stuck in a cement drain at Taman Sri Jaya, Sri Aman and could not get out.
After a careful evaluation of the situation, firefighters used their ‘Paratech’ tools and one of them decided to crawl in the drain in a bid to save the puppy.
After 30 minutes, the rescue operation ended with success. The frightened puppy is safe and back with her family, where she can rest safely after the tiring ordeal. — DayakDaily
