Sri Aman Benak Festival committee pays courtesy call on Uggah

KUCHING, August 14: The annual Pesta Benak Sri Aman will be held from Sept 27 to 29.

According to a press statement, event organising committee members led by Sri Aman Resident Indit Bangai today paid a courtesy call on Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas at his office here to brief him on the festival’s many activities.

Some 11 activities have been planned for the biggest tourism event for the division.

They include a regatta, bazaar, Benak surfing, stage show, Ratu Kebaya Nyonya Benak contest, Miss Tourism Benak contest, concert, development exhibition and others.

Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg has been invited to officiate at the festival’s grand opening on Sept 28 at about 2.30pm.

Meanwhile, Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud is expected to officiate at its closing on Sept 29 at 11am. — DayakDaily
