KUCHING, June 19: Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2022 candidates who have achieved straight As can apply for the ‘2022 SPM Excellence Award Scheme’ initiated by Bandar Kuching and Stampin Parliamentary Constituency Service Centre.
Sarawak Democratic Action Party (DAP) chairman Chong Chieng Jen who is Stampin MP, said those who scored 10As and above would be rewarded RM700 cash prize, followed by 9As (RM600), 8As (RM500), 7As (RM300), and 6As (RM200).
“We have started this reward programme since last year. Fortunately, we are still in government and have this constituency allocation for our service centre. Therefore, we shall continue our programme to reward those with excellent results in SPM 2022,” he said at a press conference held at DAP headquarters today.
Meanwhile, George Lam, the special assistant to Bandar Kuching MP, Dr Kelvin Yii Lee Wuen, explained that the programme is open to those residing in Bandar Kuching or Stampin constituencies or enrolled in secondary schools located within the constituencies.
To apply, eligible applicants must prepare four documents, namely, identity card (IC), 2022 SPM exam transcript, school leaving certificate and bank statement, and submit them through https://forms.gle/X2fUbH57oUgsuLUr6.
The deadline for the application is set on June 30, 2023.
“Students do not need to come to Bandar Kuching and Stampin Service Centre as they can just pay attention to YB Chong and YB Kelvin Yii’s Facebook page, where we will post the Google Form link there, and they just need to fill up the information and submit the necessary documents.
“Once we have processed and filtered the applications, we will inform the eligible students to come over, and we will have a ceremony afterwards, in batches,” Lam said.
