BAU, Jan 19: With Chinese New Year fast approaching, a spectacular 298-feet-long dragon lantern glides through the bustling main street of Siniawan Heritage Town, signalling the imminent arrival of the Year of Dragon.
The dragon’s head, adorned with expressive features and a commanding presence, exudes an aura of mythical grandeur, symbolising good fortune, prosperity, and auspicious beginnings.
As the dragon lantern meanders through the historic town, the bustling weekend night market, comes alive.
In between the two rows of wooden shophouses in this cowboy town, a big dragon head with its body trailing in a cascade of red lanterns, bathes the street in a warm and inviting glow. The scene transforming the thoroughfare into a fantastical pathway that beckons locals and visitors alike to join in the festivities.
Serembu assemblyman Miro Simuh was present to officiate the lighting up of the the splendid dragon lantern decorations at the venue this evening.
“This is the uniqueness of our community in Siniawan. Although we are of different races and religion, we would unite to celebrate any festivity together.
“I hope all friends who are here today would take photos of the beautiful surroundings and make them go viral on social media so that many others would also come here to witness how beautiful our dragon lantern is,” he said when delivering his speech.
Meanwhile, Siniawan Kapitan Bong Boon Kah extended gratitude to the generous sponsors whose crontributions made the stunning dragon lantern decoration possible.
