KUCHING, July 10: Songket products produced by Ramtiniwaiti Ramlee, an entrepreneur from Kampung Gedong, Simunjan under the National Information Distribution Centre (NADI) programme, are being marketed globally in the United Kingdom, the United States , Canada, Spain, India, and China.

Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said her products are also in demand in Indonesia and other Southeast Asian countries.

He said the Malaysian Communications & Multimedia Commission (MCMC) had flown Ramtiniwaiti and her products to the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain earlier this year.

According to a news report by TVS, Fahmi was answering a question from Betong MP Dr Richard Rapu during the question and answer (Q&A) session in Parliament today on the effectiveness of the digital NADI course in Sarawak.

Elaborating further, Fahmi said NADI has trained more than 3,850 entrepreneurs in Sarawak on courses including online marketing on Shopee and other platforms.

Through this marketing exercise, he added, the entrepreneurs managed to record more than RM2.56 million in sales for the period from June 2021 to December 2023. — DayakDaily
