KUCHING, March 14: Song district reverted to Covid-19 red zone status after recording a total of 23 new positive Covid-19 cases today.
According to the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) the new cases reported brings the total number of infections in Song to 53 cases in the past 14 days.
“From the total of 23 new cases reported in Song today, 21 of the cases involved the Begalak cluster, and two other were recorded from active case detection (ACD) of Covid-19 patients,” it said in a press statement today.
SDMC noted Serian, Subis, Julau, Betong, Meradong, Kuching, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and Sibu remained as red zones, with a total of 2,483 cases reported in the last 14 days, while Bau, Mukah and Sarikei stayed in the orange zone with a total of 95 cases over the same period.
Other districts namely Dalat, Limbang, Selangau, Telang Usan, Tanjung Manis, Kanowit, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Belaga, Lundu, Bukit Mabong, Tatau, Marudi, Pusa, Asajaya, Beluru, Saratok and Sebauh were also unchanged as yellow zones with only a total of 137 cases recorded in the previous 14 days.
“Eight district namely Pakan, Matu, Lawas, Daro, Simunjan, Lubok Antu, Tebedu and Kabong continue with their green zone status,” SDMC added. — DayakDaily
