KUCHING, June 12: The Kuching Magistrate’s Court sentenced an unemployed man to seven months’ imprisonment for threatening to kill his mother.
Rahmat Sajana Husain, 27, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Nuruhuda Mohd Yusof and was sentenced to an imprisonment term of 7 months, starting from his date of arrest on January 10, 2019.
He was found guilty of committing intimidation by threatening his 54-year-old mother with death at their house in Kampung Pulo Hilir Petra Jaya, at about 4.30pm on January 10, 2019.
He was charged under Section 506 of the Penal Code which carries an imprisonment term which may extend to seven years, or with fine, or both, if convicted.
According to the brief facts of the case, the accused threatened to burn the cabinet of the house and kill his mother because his mother refused to give him money.
