Some 300 people attend `Flash gathering PDA74’

KUCHING, June 12: About 300 people showed up for the ‘Flash Gathering PDA74’ organised by Solidarity Anak Sarawak (SAS) at the Kuching Waterfront this morning.

SAS initially planned to hold it for only 30 minutes from 9am, but due to the unexpected show of support, it ended around 10.30am.

Former Padungan assemblyman Dominique Ng described the response as “good” because SAS had very little time to put the event together.

The peaceful demonstration was meant to serve as a platform for Sarawakians to show their love for Sarawak and their readiness to protect her. It was also to lend moral support to those who would be fighting for Sarawakians in the Federal Court in relation to the Petronas oil claims.

The gathering today was not cancelled even though the court case, which was supposed to be heard today, was postponed to June 21 at the 11th hour. The postponement, which was made without a proper court hearing, became one of the main issues raised at the gathering. — DayakDaily
