KUCHING, April 5: The Society for Cancer Advocacy and Awareness Kuching (SCAN) handed over copies of its publication ‘SO YOU HAVE CANCER, WHAT NOW?’ to the Methodist Church’s Hospital Ministry Group for their hospital visitation programmes to those battling cancer.
Advisor of SCAN Datin Dayang Mariani Abang Zain, who presented the books to the Hospital Ministry Reverend Teo of Methodist Church’s Hospital Ministry Group, said this highlights the collaborative spirit between community organisations and faith-based groups.
“Together, we contribute to the well-being of patients, offering a touch of hope and a reminder that they are not alone in their fight,” she said in a statement today.
The presentation ceremony was held at Wisma Methodist, Jalan Pisang. The publication is a compilation of stories from cancer patients and survivors.
These firsthand accounts of resilience, hope, and triumph aim to offer encouragement and inspiration to those currently on their cancer journeys.
On the same note, Rev Teo expressed their sincere appreciation for the thoughtful contribution.
She said the donation empowers the church ministry to continue its mission of providing comfort and companionship to patients facing difficult times and offering them a sense of solidarity and hope during their treatment.
She added that by sharing the experiences of others who have overcome similar challenges, the book serves as a powerful testament to the human spirit’s strength and resilience. — DayakDaily
