Snowdan retains Balai Ringin seat with 1,285 majority

KUCHING, Dec 18: Gabungan Parti Sarawak’s (GPS) candidate for N30 Balai Ringin seat Datuk Snowdan Lawan has retained the constituency by a majority of 1,285 votes, according to official results from the Election Commission (EC).

Snowdan, who is a three-term assemblyman for Balai Ringin, garnered 4,816 votes in the 12th Sarawak Election.

He defeated Datuk Masir Kujat from Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) who polled 3,531 votes and Kasim Mana from Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) who received 195 votes.


There were a total of 10,791 registered voters in the Balai Ringin constituency.

In the last Sarawak Election in 2016, Snowdan secured 4,478 votes and won the Balai Ringin seat by a majority of 2,039 votes.

He defeated independent candidate Entusa Imam who received 2,439 votes, Nicholas Mujah Ason from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) who secured 700 votes and Pok Ungkut from Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak Baru who polled 90 votes. — DayakDaily
