Razaili Gapor successfully defends Beting Maro for GPS

KUCHING, Dec 18: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) Razaili Gapor has successfully defended the N29 Beting Maro seat in a five-cornered battle, garnering 3,769 out of 7,302 total valid votes.

According to the Election Commission of Malaysia (EC) website, he defeated Arif Paijo from Parti Islam Se-Malaysia (PAS) with a majority of 1,711 votes.


The other three contestants who lost their deposits were Abang Zulkifli Abang Engkeh from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), Jacky Chiew Su Chee from Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK), and independent Safiudin Matsah who received 765, 636 and 74 votes respectively.

The voter turnout rate for this constituency was 65.82 per cent with 7,302 out of 11,094 eligible voters casting their ballots today. — DayakDaily
