JULAU, Aug 7: Several projects have been approved by the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government during the last five months in Julau, says Larry Sng.

Julau MP Larry Sng in a statement today said his decision to join PN five months ago has resulted in projects which he had applied for being approved.

“During my five months with the PN government, several projects applied for were approved and have benefited the people of Julau,” he said.

The latest project approved for Julau by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was the construction and repair of concrete roads in the Pakan and Julau Districts at a cost of RM2 million.

“I am very grateful that the government is now concerned and has contributed to the Julau Parliamentary Constituency. A few months ago, Minister of Housing and Local Government, Datuk Zuraida also approved two projects for Julau at a cost of RM1.8 million for the purpose of repairing the Julau Waterfront and Pakan Car Park,” he added.

Apart from that, the minister had also approved the proposed construction of a Class E Fire Station in Julau with an estimated cost of between RM2 million to RM3 million.

This is important to address the issue of emergencies and frequent fires in the Julau area.

Touching on Covid-19 vaccinations, Sng said the vaccination rate in Julau was very high.

“I would like to state that the Vaccination Programme in the Julau Parliamentary Constituency has won first place in Sarawak. he performance of vaccine reception in the Julau area is very good and more than 70 per cent of the people aged 18 and above have received the vaccine,” he stated. — DayakDaily
