KUCHING, Aug 25: Parti Bangsa Malaysia’s (PBM) plan to contest Sarawak parliamentary seats in the coming 15th General Election (GE15) has not changed, says its president Datuk Larry Sng.

He said this includes incumbent seats, meaning Julau which Sng himself will be defending.

“As far as PBM is concerned, it is contesting all incumbent seats, including Julau. That has not changed,” he told DayakDaily when contacted today.

Noting that the understanding that BN will not be fielding any candidates in seats that GPS is contesting is between BN and GPS, Sng said PBM, which is not part of BN, is not bound by any such agreement.

Should PBM’s application to join the BN coalition be accepted, Sng said PBM would then relook at other options.

“PBM is not in BN (Barisan Nasional) and is not bound by any understanding between BN and GPS (Gabungan Parti Sarawak). If the situation changes, then we will re-look at our options,” he said.

Earlier in July, PBM had submitted its official membership application to BN. BN’s decision over whether to accept PBM into its fold has yet to be made known. — DayakDaily
