MIRI, Aug 24: Three days after a snatch theft incident was reported to have occurred at a bus stop nearby Pelita Tunku, the police has apprehended a local man believed to be the suspect of the case.
The suspect was detained around 4pm today, not far from the scene of the crime.
A team of Miri Criminal Investigation (CID) officers who apprehended the suspect also seized a knife believed to have been used in the incident.
On Wednesday, at around 5am, an elderly man in his 50’s fell victim to a snatch theft, while waiting at the said bus stop nearby the Pelita Tunku building.
The victim, who sustained injuries, immediately lodged a police report after the incident. — DayakDaily
