MIRI, Aug 24: Agriculture entrepreneurs need to adapt and stay in step with the latest digital marketing trend as it will allow them to reach their prospect and penetrate a much broader market more effectively.

Minister of Transport Datuk Lee Kim Shin, in highlighting this, thus urged entrepreneurs in the agriculture sector to use the online platform in their marketing approach to expose their products and enhance their market presence globally.

“Via online marketing approach, you can do global market penetration for your products,” he said after launching the State-Level Carnival and Straight-From-The-Farm Sale today at Bintang Megal Mall here.

“Through online marketing, agriculture entrepreneurs will be able to sell their local products not only for domestic but also market beyond Malaysia,” he added.

When businesses penetrate into the global marketplace, Lee pointed out that entrepreneurs have the power to reach and attract more customers which will not only benefit the business but the country economically as well.

“Apart from the online marketing to help boost sales, attractive products packaging are also an important branding strategy to attract customers,” he said.

Meanwhile, the two-day event featured a total of 35 booths showcasing a wide variety of local fruits which were being offered at a special price.

Lee was also impressed that there were many young entreprenuers involved in the agriculture sector and took part in this year’s event.

“It’s good to see more young people as it shows that they have interest in this industry,” he commended.
