MIRI, Dec 28: A two-meter python is spotted slithering across the veranda fence of the At-Taqwa Mosque at Jalan Merpati.

It happened early morning today when several worshippers were about to start their morning prayers, when one of them spotted the reptile.

Miri Civil Defence Force was contacted at 4.56am where the team rushed to the scene immediately and secured the area within minutes.

The python was caught and released back to its natural habitat.

It was believed that the incessant heavy rain since last night (Dec 27) might have caused the snake to wonder into the mosque which is situated near a bushy area. — DayakDaily
