MIRI, Nov 2: A 40-year-old housewife had the shock of her life when she discovered a two-meter-long infant cobra stuck to a sticky glue trap meant to catch rodents.

In the 3.56pm incident, which reportedly occurred at a house in Taman Shangrilla here on Thursday, the woman thought the trap caught a mouse.

“I heard a suspicious sound coming from the refrigerator and went to check,” said the housewife, who added that she put the glue trap out to catch a mouse that had been pestering the house over the last two months.

However, instead of getting a mouse, it trapped a baby cobra.

Stunned and worried, she immediately, called up Miri Civil Defence force (APM) for assistance.

Three APM personnel were mobilised to the scene after responding to the emergency alert, picking up the cobra stuck to the glue trap. — DayakDaily
