KUCHING, Jan 22: A Sumbangan Keperluan Asas Sarawak (SKAS) Engagement Session will be held at the Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Headquarters from Friday (Jan 24) to Sunday (Jan 26).
According to SUPP Women’s chief Kho Teck Wan, the session, which will run from 8am to 5pm daily, is aimed at assisting eligible applicants with the registration and troubleshooting of their Sarawak ID, Spay Global, and Sarawak basic needs aid applications.
She noted that presently, over 90,000 eligible individuals have yet to apply for SKAS, and officers from the Sains, the Residence Office, and the District Office will be on hand to provide assistance.

The engagement session is strictly for Anak Sarawak holding an identification card with the letter ‘K’.
Ineligible individuals are advised not to attend, as appeals can be filed from February 2025 until March 31, 2025 through the website.
Applicants are reminded to bring their smartphone and identification card to the session.
For those who qualify, this session provides an opportunity to ensure that all relevant documentation is in order.
The SKAS initiative is part of Sarawak Budget 2025, which allocates RM450 million to support over 850,000 Sarawakians.
Eligibility criteria include households with income of RM5,000 and below will receive RM800; senior citizens without spouses and children, with an income of RM5,000 and below, will receive RM400; while single individuals with income of RM2,500 and below will receive RM250.
The financial aid will be disbursed via the SPay e-wallet, allowing recipients, particularly those from lower-income groups, to purchase essential items such as rice, flour, and cooking oil. — DayakDaily
