KUCHING, Sept 4: The 54 years of waiting for proper building signage is now over for SK Tabuan Ulu (SeKTU) at Jalan Foochow.

Apart from getting signage, the school also recently underwent some renovation and upgrading of its building.

Speaking at the signage hand over ceremony today, SUPP Youth secretary-general Milton Foo said he was happy to see the enthusiasm and cooperation shown by all parties including the school board, community leaders, Sarawak Education Department, Trident Quantum Sdn. Bhd and those behind-the-scene such as workers in the work process.

“Honestly, I am very impressed with the achievement of this school in a very short period of time from the first time I came to visit on Aug 14 until today.

“The state Education Department and the District Education Office has been helping tremendously for the process of upgrading SK Tabuan Ulu school building and toilets, although there are many more that need to be repaired for the comfort of the students,” Foo said.

He had also visited the school during the installation work on the roof and doors of the new classrooms carried out by the contractor.

“Looking at other needs that can not be provided by the state education department, we willingly extend the assistance through repairing damaged doors, sinks and pipes; and maintenance or replacement of damaged aircon in the school computer lab.

“The same replacement works also goes for broken ceiling and repainting of the classroom at level 3, block A,” Foo disclosed.

He also thanked the team who have helped speed up the work for the comfort of SeKTU students and teachers, adding that such transformation of excellence will happen for the sake of the nation and Sarawakian children born in SK Tabuan Ulu.—DayakDaily
