SERIAN, Aug 20: SK Taba Sait at the Bengoh Resettlement Scheme (BRS) has become the second school in the Mambong constituency to be equipped with a Think & Tinker (T&T) mini lab, following in the footsteps of SMK Siburan, which received the facility in 2022 under Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (Tegas).

To support the initiative, Deputy Minister of Transport (Aviation and Roads) Datuk Dr Jerip Susil, who is also Mambong assemblyman and Tegas deputy chairman, allocated RM1,000 for the setup.

Dr Jerip announced this today when officiating at the Project of Dream Realised (PRO-DR) held at Siburan Community Hall, jointly organised by Tegas and the Sarawak Education Department.

He emphasised that the T&T mini lab plays a vital role in equipping rural schoolchildren with technical knowledge, creativity, and innovation in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) as well as Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

“The mini lab at SMK Siburan has already benefitted many students, and I hope the one at SK Taba Sait will bring similar positive impact.

“In today’s technology-driven era, STEM and TVET education are essential for us Sarawakians to compete globally,” he said.

The event drew around 500 students and representatives from 30 agencies. — DayakDaily
