KUCHING, Oct 19: SK Combined has received RM117,300 from Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii to conduct maintenance works on the school’s facilities.

In a statement today, Dr Yii said the allocation was channeled through his Bandar Kuching Parliamentary Service Center for maintenance works at the school’s Block A classroom and corridor walls, including building a rest and recreation area for student and teachers.

According to him, SK Combined is an old building that was built around 1963 and due to that, the condition of the classrooms on the top floor of Block A has worsened, creating a safety concern for the school’s students.

“The existing canteen space is also quite narrow and cannot accommodate the large number of students.

“Therefore, at the request of the school, my office has agreed to channel allocations,” he said.

Dr Yii said that his office also donated RM7,000 to the school’s Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) board to organise an appreciation ceremony for the Primary Six students this year.

He also assured that Bandar Kuching Parliamentary Service Center will continue to work with all the schools in his constituency, including providing any assistance needed. — DayakDaily
