SJK (C) Tung Hua closed for sanitisation after three students test positive for Covid-19

SIBU, March 22: Five firefighters from the central fire station here carried out sanitisation work at SJK (C) Tung Hua after three students tested positive for Covid-19.

The one-hour operation covered a total size of 4,570 square metres involving all classrooms, the administrative office and the school’s general surroundings.

The three students contracted the disease from their grandmother. The elderly woman was swabbed on March 18 and the result came back positive for the coronavirus the next day.

The school which has over 700 students was ordered to close yesterday until further notice.

The teachers will be conducting lessons online in the meantime until face-to-face learning is possible.

On March 19, SJK Methodist was also forced to close after a teacher tested positive for the coronavirus.

Two other schools namely SK Abang Ali and SK St Mary were also ordered to close until the end of the mid-term holiday on April 3 for safety reasons as they are located within the Kampung Hilir Cluster area. ā€” DayakDaily
