KUCHING, Aug 11: The SJK (C) Chung Hua Miri Orchestra team is set to take part in HE YUE International Arts Festival 2023 in Penang on Aug 24.
According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew said his ministry would fully support the team.
“This support and sponsorship will enable them to showcase their musical talent and promote Chinese cultural music on the international stage,” he said.
It is understood that the orchestra group established in 2017 has grown and now has 50 members registered under the guidance of the Music Director of the Chinese Orchestra Tham Wan Sion.
