KUCHING, Aug 24: Kampung Plaman Bantang is among six villages in Serian which have been placed under an Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) from Aug 26 to Sept 8, 2021.
The village has recorded 53 Covid-19 cases so far, creating a new cluster dubbed the Plaman Bantang Cluster.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today announced the five other villages under lockdown are Kampung Ensebang Plaie A, Kampung Ensebang Plaie B, Kampung Tanah Mawang, Kampung Tanah Mawang Menyang A and Kampung Tanah Mawang Menyang B.
The committee also revealed that eight areas have started EMCO, namely Uma Lesong, Sungai Asap in Belaga (Aug 23 to Sept 5); 157 and 158 Tower Camp/Base Camp of West Borneo Construction Sdn Bhd/Euromatec Sdn Bhd); Jalan Hulu Engkamop in Pakan (Aug 23 to Sept 8); Rh Sambun, Nanga Kesit in Lubok Antu (Aug 24 to Sept 6); and Rh Gerinang, Sg Mador, Bintangor in Meradong (Aug 24 to Sept 9).
The other four areas are located in Bintulu, namely a rented room above Kedai Jireh Corner, Bintulu Sentral; a workers’ quarters at Bumirim Sdn Bhd; Rumah Roselind Suang, Batu 7, Jalan Bintulu-Miri; and Rumah Jaraw Sumok, Sg Plan in Bintulu. All these areas are under EMCO from Aug 23 to Sept 5.
Two villages in Lundu and Simunjan namely Kampung Rayu Iban and Kampung Keniong Lama respectively, will undergo EMCO starting tomorrow until Sept 7.
SDMC also extended the EMCO implementation in two areas: at Rh Sering, Bangkong, Pantu in Sri Aman from Aug 24 to 30 and at Kampung Bunga in Serian from Sept 1 to 14.
At the same time, the committee announced the end of EMCO for 14 areas today, namely Rumah Paberi Magelit, Sungai Menok, Lapok Tinjar in Beluru; Rh Degum Usit, Nanga Puti, Kakus in Tatau; Rh Kepalin Omar, KM58 Jalan Bintulu-Miri (Bakun Intersection) in Bintulu; a workers quarters at Wahon Glass & Aluminium Sdn Bhd in Bintulu; Kemena Industrial Estate in Bintulu; Rh Mara, Gran C Stumbin in Sri Aman; Rh Joseph Enja, Kampung Bangkong Asal, Pantu in Sri Aman; Rh Laham, Bangkong, Pantu in Sri Aman; Rh Faizal, Engkeramut in Sri Aman; Rh Gunong, Samak Undop in Sri Aman; Rh Pilit, Kaong Ulu Undop in Sri Aman; Kampung Paon Rimu in Serian; Kampung Paon Rimu Bakong in Serian; and Kampung Sungai Lingsat Batu Kudi in Serian. — DayakDaily
